As you will be aware, Tonbridge has been placed into Tier 3 when the national coronavirus lockdown restrictions end on December 2nd.  As a result we have received updated guidance from the Department for Education: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-in-education/face-coverings-in-education#where-local-restriction-tiers-apply

We endeavour to follow all Government and related Coronavirus  advice. Consequently, from December 2nd 2020 please be aware that clean and suitable face coverings should be worn by adults (staff and visitors) and learners when they arrive and enter the building and also as they leave.

They also need to be worn during any times that learners congregate in common rooms or common areas for more than five minutes.  It will not usually be necessary to wear face coverings in the classroom, where protective measures already mean the risks are lower, and they inhibit teaching and learning.

You may wish to remind your son or daughter of the guidance about how to put on and remove face coverings safely: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own#how-to-wear-a-face-covering

We will have a small contingency supply of coverings available to meet needs if a learner’s covering is soiled or unsuitable but please help us by making sure that your son or daughter’s face covering is clean, suitable and can be fitted correctly when in College.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

Best wishes, stay safe
