Oakley College intends to remain open until Friday 27th March 2020.

The Government has made clear that every young person with an EHCP will have the opportunity to continue to attend college, should their parents/carers wish them to, although it is equally clear that to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Government is asking parents and carers to keep their young people at home wherever possible, keeping colleges open only for those young people who absolutely need to attend.

This will be a significant challenge for us all and for Oakley College as our staff deal with the requirements to self-isolate and care for their own children and families. However, Oakley College intends to remain open until Friday 27th March 2020 if possible. We will open, if we can do so safely, for normal college hours.

The service being provided by colleges will not be college-based education, it will be care to support the national effort of containing this virus.  Normal learning sessions and tutor groups will be suspended but in these challenging times we will give our best efforts to provide a broad range of activities to enable our learner’s college life to remain as familiar and stable as possible. Their safety and wellbeing remain our top priority.
